Wonderful! I cannot praise them enough.
Especially Dr Ojo and nurses Emma and Chirs.
All staff with my Thanks and Love and Best wishes.
Also the two Wonderful ambulance lady Medics staff who got me to Queens.
The service needs improvement
Don’t get told what’s going on. This is in A&E and the wards.
This was my second visit. Both were poor apart from engagement with doctors.
Your SDEC system is not fit for purpose. The same group of people moved through together without any obvious streaming. I was fortunate in seeing specialist docs but that did not move me any further forward. I was told by the doctor at about 7:30 that I was being discharged but when the critical situation was announced two hours later and I opted for self discharge my papers were still in a pile waiting to be looked at. And I was lucky as folk were told they’d be there all night.
If I have to visit again I’ll go outside the area as reports I see are that this is the usual position.
Waiting was too much , a patient could even die while waiting for treatment
In total I spent over 20 hours in A&E.
Waited 15 (fifteen) hours to see doctor despite being classified as a priority case having had multiple tests for possible mini stroke / silent heart attack.
Moved from A&E majors to a corridor that was titled Emergency Medical Care.
Very very uncomfortable hard seats with no communication overnight.
One of many patients moved together from majors with minimal communication.
There were no doctors for long periods & nurses appeared overstretched with what appeared to be limited number of senior nurses especially during the night hours.
Doctors were seemingly not around or overstretched elsewhere to attend to the many patients.
The waiting time was horrendous.
I was treated well by all staff and they put themselves out in anyway to help. Everyone one of them including porters were so nice and respectful.
Only moan and it is a moan going into hospital by ambulance had to wait 13 and half hours to put anything into motion.
I was released yesterday and on my way out there were three corridors full of people some sitting on the floor some in beds babies crying people moaning in pain - I just couldn’t believe what I was seeing..
Also mention Queens are so understaffed - a nurse I spoke to 2hr journey from Croydon then 12hr shift then home another 2hrs that’s what you call dedication she was brilliant.
Excellent service
I spent over 14 hours in A & E. The initial assessment was efficient and I was told I needed a blood test and ECG. I had the blood test and then a CT scan but had to ask repeatedly for the ECG. I estimate that I asked for this over 10 times. I did not see a Dr after my initial assessment. Patients were dumped in the corridor and ignored. I have never seen so many patients self discharge as they were not being treated. This unit has clearly failed. There was a lack of communication. When I eventually saw the Physician associate she could not answer basic questions about my care. I hate to think how someone older and more vulnerable than me would be treated.
